SHAH ALAM — About 120 participants of the “Rakyat Pengayuh Perubahan” programme organised by a group who called themselves “Jaringan Rakyat Tertindas” (Jerit) handed over a memorandum to Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim today.
The memorandum contained six demands, namely the enactment of minimum salary law, repeal of the Internal Security Act, provision of comfortable housing for the people, control on price of goods, introduction of local council elections and end to privatisation of basic services.
Clad in red T-shirts, the group cycled one-and-a-half hours from the Malaysian Agriculture Park to the Selangor State Secretary Building to hand over the memorandum.
No untoward incidents were reported. — Bernama
